Great fun at the Guildford Castle bandstand on Sunday 4 August.

A wonderful audience enjoyed a free two hour concert by the band.

The band had a great time at the Claygate Flower show last Saturday, even if our Scottish MD was grimacing through the second rendition of Three Lions! His tartan trews were obviously Spanish made…

Anyway, here’s a couple of recordings to enjoy, Prismatic Light by Alan Fernie and the feet tapping Flashdance.

If you’re interested in joining the band, we rehearse on Monday evening 8-10pm and are currently recruiting. You will be very welcome.

This year The Cobham Band wasn’t able to enter the Regional Brass Band competition, but that didn’t stop us learning the test piece and taking some time to perform it in an open rehearsal and in front of Chris King. Chris had, just a few days before, adjudicated the piece in the Scottish regional championships. His insight and feedback was invaluable – bring on the Autumn contests!
